ShawneeCTV is ‘ESPN’ for Shawnee and North Rock Creek High Schools.

Hometown, high school sports is a unity builder. High School athletes are on the front lines as examples for a community’s elementary and junior high aged children. The exposure to extracurricular school activities and the positive it brings into the lives of our community’s youth are at the heart of what ShawneeCTV is all about.

“Youth who participate in high school sports are more likely to have a higher GPA and graduate at higher rates than the average student who does not participate,” says ShawneeCTV’s Daniel Shaughnessy. “Further studies show, adults who participated in high school sports are more likely to be employed; reported higher incomes ($50K or more); and, had better jobs and job aspirations.”

Positive messaging has been at the forefront of the company’s fifty-seven consecutive seasons following area high school teams and their families. ShawneeCTV is now showing players who are children of players’ ShawneeCTV followed in the company’s infancy. Adding to this parents and grandparents means -ShawneeCTV now inspires the generations of our extended Shawnee community. Positive messaging is the core to ShawneeCTV’s long-standing impact.

“We’ve never skirted tough issues,” states Shaughnessy. “In fact, over the years we’ve injected ourselves into the middle of local elections and controversial issues. We choose to speak truth through a positive lens regarding all that we witness – on the field of play, or in the public eye. We tackle tough topics, willfully staying positive.”

Adding North Rock Creek Athletics to its core production schedule in the fall of 2021, ShawneeCTV anticipates producing more than 70 ‘live’ and on-demand local high school games during the school year.
